Thank you for your interest in supporting the Viking Genes Project in memory of your loved one. When someone you love dies, the sense of loss can cause a profound sadness. It can, at times, feel almost overwhelming. It can also be difficult to know where to start when thinking about a special way to remember, honour and celebrate your loved one’s life. If you decide to raise money in memory of your loved one, we want to make it as easy as possible for you. That’s why we’ll be on hand to answer any of your questions, if and when you need us. Our team will support your plans and ensure 100% of the money you raise gets to the Viking Genes Fund. Funeral collection Your funeral director will be able to arrange a funeral collection. They will have cash collection boxes available to use at the service and can also help set-up a MuchLoved tribute page. If you would like them to, they should also be able to add our charity logo, donation URL and QR code to the Order of Service.The fundraising team at the University of Edinburgh will be happy to liaise with your funeral director; please ask them to email Kerry.Mackay@ed.ac.uk or phone 0131 650 2240. MuchLoved A MuchLoved tribute page allows friends and family to share memories, thoughts and photographs of your loved one in a bespoke online space. You can set up the page yourself or ask your funeral director to create it. Using the MuchLoved tribute page, you can share details of their funeral service and also set up a function for donating securely to the Viking Genes Fund.
